Summary: The 87th Ordinary Session brought together 867 participants, including 243 state delegates from 32 countries, 345 NGO representatives, 51 NHRI representatives, and others from AU organs, international organizations, media, and observer groups. The Commission examined 13 communications, adopted 1 country-specific resolution (on Sudan) and 4 thematic resolutions, and granted observer status to 8 new NGOs, bringing the total to 600, while NHRI affiliates remained 39. In terms of engagement, 24 states, 10 NHRIs, 2 international organizations, and 62 NGOs delivered statements. The Commission also reviewed state reporting compliance, noting that only 7 countries were up to date, while many had overdue reports (including 18 with more than three overdue reports and 6 with none submitted), highlighting ongoing challenges in implementation and accountability across Afric
